Burress not expected to play

PITTSBURGH -- Plaxico Burress (hamstring) was among six players to miss practice Thursday, but his absence created the biggest stir because he's now expected to miss Sunday's game.

"If it were a playoff game, he might be able to play, but I highly doubt he'll be ready for this one," said a source who requested anonymity.

Running backs Bettis (knee) and Verron Haynes (knee) also missed practice. Bettis is probable and Haynes is questionable. Already ruled out have been Kendrell Bell, Chad Scott and Brett Keisel.

Defensive tackle Marcus Stroud (knee) is listed as probable but he missed his second consecutive practice for the Jaguars.
