For the third time in his eight years with the team, Bettis won the Chief Award, presented annually to the member of the Steelers' organization who best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the media established by founder Arthur J. Rooney, Sr.
Bettis has rushed for 100 yards in all six games he's started and currently leads the team with 941 yards rushing. He also has a career-high 13 rushing TDs, one away from tying a club record.
Roethlisberger, the Steelers' 2004 top draft pick from Miami, Ohio, won the Joe Greene Great Performance Award for being the Steelers' top rookie.
Roethlisberger took over as the starter in the third game of the season and owns the NFL record for most consecutive wins by a rookie quarterback (13). He's also on the verge of breaking the records for completion percentage (66.4 percent) and passer-rating (98.1). Dan Marino holds both records with a 58.3 completion percentage and 96.0 passer rating as a rookie in 1983.
Through 15 games, Roethlisberger has completed 196-of-295 passes for 2,621 yards and 17 TDs with 11 interceptions for a 98.1 passer rating.
He's not expected to play Sunday, but did return to practice Thursday. Roethlisberger's listed as questionable. Coach Bill Cowher has already named Tommy Maddox the starter.
Also missing Thursday's practice were Deshea Townsend, Bettis, Clark Haggans, Plaxico Burress, Verron Haynes and James Harrison (sick).
