McFadden, Essex the last to sign

The Steelers put the finishing touches on agreements with their final two unsigned draft picks Thursday, but remained at an impasse with disgruntled wide receiver Hines Ward.

Cornerback Bryant McFadden, a second-round pick, will sign a four-year deal worth about $2.45 million, including a $1.35 million signing bonus. Offensive tackle Trai Essex, the team's third-round pick, has agreed to a deal worth approximately $1.35 million over three years, including a signing bonus of $460,000.

Both players are expected to sign their deals when they arrive at the team's training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe Sunday. All players are scheduled to report by 6 p.m.

Ward, meanwhile, remains a holdout possibility as he and the Steelers are at an impasse in regards to a contract extension. Ward is entering the final season of a contract that pays him $1.6875 million this season, making him the 39th-highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.
