Steelers Make Cuts

<p>The Steelers on Monday released 15 players, including running back R.J. Bowers and tight end Cory Geason, to reduce their roster to 68.</p>

All NFL teams must reduce their rosters to 65 players by 4 p.m.Tuesday, but the Steelers have three exemptions for NFL Europe players Nijrel Eason, Tee Martin and Joe O'Donnell.

Also released Tuesday were cornerback LaVar Glover, a seventh-round draft pick, OT Leon Brockermeier, DB Eugene Clinton, C McCallister Collins, DE Rameel Connor, P Burke Dales, WR D.J. Flick, LB Pernell Griffin, DE Bary Holleyman, DE/LS Bob Jones, DL Scott Schultz, FB Albert Tuipulotu and DB Ashante Woodyard.

The Steelers must reduce their roster to 53 players by 4 p.m. Sept. 1. They may begin to add no more than five first-year players to their practice squad after 4 p.m. Sept. 2.
