Steelers finalize preseason schedule

The defending Super Bowl champions open with a rematch of the championship game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have finalized their 2009 preseason schedule by announcing the final two games and times.

Pittsburgh will travel to FedEx Field to play the Washington Redskins on Saturday, Aug. 22. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and will be televised locally on KDKA-TV (channel 2) and FSN Pittsburgh.

The Steelers conclude their 2009 preseason schedule on Thursday, Sept. 3, as they battle the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and also will be televised locally on KDKA-TV and FSN Pittsburgh.

The NFL had previously announced the Steelers' other two preseason games.

The first is a nationally televised rematch of the Super Bowl against Arizona at Heinz Field at 8 p.m, Thursday, Aug. 13. The game will be shown on ESPN.

The Steelers also travel to Buffalo for a 7:30 p.m. game, Saturday, Aug. 29. The game will be televised on KDKA and FSN.
