Buccaneers sign John McCargo

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former Buffalo Bills first-round defensive tackle John McCargo due to defensive tackle E.J. Wilson being out for the season with an Achilles heel injury suffered against the New England Patriots

The Buccaneers have waived-injured Wilson, but will put him on injured reserve if he's not claimed off waivers.

Drafted 26th overall out of North Carolina State in 2006, McCargo has played in 40 games with one start and recorded 47 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks, one forced fumble and five pass deflections.

McCargo will play defensive tackle for the Buccaneers in their 4-3 base defense. For more coverage of the NFL go to our home page at www.profootball.scout.com. Follow me on Twiter: @RavensInsider
