Fabian Washington placed on injured reserve

The New Orleans Saints have placed veteran cornerback Fabian Washington on injured reserve, ending his season. Washington is a former Oakland Raiders first-round draft pick from Nebraska.

He played for the Baltimore Ravens for the last few seasons for the Baltimore Ravens prior to signing a one-year contract with the Saints.

Washington was a starter in Baltimore before being benched last fall in a game against the Buffalo Bills when he allowed three touchdown passes against wide receiver Lee Evans.

Washington is one of the faster cornerbacks in the NFL, running the 40-yard dash in 4.3 seconds.
