Giants sign WR Michael Clayton

The New York Giants re-signed wide receiver Michael Clayton as Domenik Hixon was placed on injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Clayton was released at the start of training camp. The Giants are also missing wide receiver Mario Manningham due to a concussion.

Last year, Clayton caught two passes in six games with New York.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers first-round draft pick has caught 143 passes for 1,762 yards and three touchdowns for the past six seasons. He caught 80 passes for 1,193 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie.
