Bengals to work out Larry Johnson

As Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson challenges his three-game suspension for violating the NFL personal conduct policy, two-time Pro Bowl running back Larry Johnson will work out for the AFC North club Tuesday. Benson is appealing the suspension Tuesday and has simultaneously filed a lawsuit against the NFL Players Association.

Released for the second time by the Miami Dolphins this year, Johnson rushed for only two yards on his lone carry this season.

Johnson, 31, has gained 6,221 career yards with 55 touchdowns scored during previous stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Redskins.

During the preseason, Johnson rushed for 46 yards on 12 carries. He did show some burst on a 22-yard touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
