Nick Mangold returns to practice

New York Jets Pro Bowl center Nick Mangold returned to practice for the first time since incurring a high-ankle sprain in the second week of the season, albeit on a limited basis. He's expected to return for this week's game against the New England Patriots. Mangold has been sidelined for the past few games.

"I'd say pretty good," Mangold told reporters when asked how it's going. "It's day by day. It's looking good. Every day keeps getting a little better."

Jets rookie center Colin Baxter got manhandled by the Baltimore Ravens' front seven during a 34-17 loss Sunday night.

Jets coach Rex Ryan told New England reporters: "I'd just like to add one player: I'd like to bring Nick Mangold back. I think that will be a big help for us. I'm definitely hopeful that Nick will play."
