Ben Roethlisberger breaks thumb

Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger broke his right thumb against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Roethlisberger made the announcement today.

However, the former Super Bowl Most Valuable Player told reporters he intends to play against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Roethlisberger and the Steelers have a bye this week. So, he'll have time to recover from his injury.

The Steelers (7-3) are a half-game ahead of the Bengals (6-3) and the Baltimore Ravens (6-3) in the AFC North division, but were swept by Baltimore in the annual series.
