Dolphins interview Mike Zimmer

The Miami Dolphins interviewed Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer today, preparing for the possibility that former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher will wind up with the St. Louis Rams. The Dolphins have also interviewed Fisher, Chicago Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub, interim coach Todd Bowles and Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin.

Zimmer is a former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator.

His defense ranked seventh in the league this season in Cincinati.

Zimmer was named the NFL Assistant Coach of the Year by the the Professional Football Writers of America when the Bengals won the AFC North.

He was a defensive coordinator with the Atlanta Falcons previously.

He won the Halas Award for overcoming adversity in 2009 after Zimmer's wife of 27 years, Vikki, died during the season.
