Thomas charged with possession of marijuana

According to reports, the former West Virginia standout was arrested early Monday morning in Morgantown, W.V., where he attended college, and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Thomas was pulled over at 3:55 a.m. for going the wrong way on a one-way street in Morgantown. >

Police allegedly discovered two plastic bags of a substance believed to be marijuana when Thomas opened his glove compartment to give his registration to officers, reportedly finding less than 15 grams of marijuana.

Thomas was selected in the sixth round last year, but was sidelined for his whole rookie season due to a back injury.

"We are aware of the arrest of J.T. Thomas in Morgantown, WV," said the Bears in a statement. "We are currently gathering information to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the arrest."
