Dolphins sign former basketball player

The Miami Dolphins went the basketball route to acquire an athletic tight end prospect.

They signed former Westminster College basketball player Les Brown, the team announced.

The 6-foot-4, 238-pound Brown played basketball for the Salt Lake City school, and as a junior he started 34 of Westminster's 35 games, averaging 2.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and .4 blocks per game.

Brown was an all-state wide receiver at Highlands High School in Salt Lake City, where he led the state of Utah in receptions as a junior.

He has spent the past few years working at a private equity firm in Florida, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
