Seahawks sign former first-round tackle Alex

The Seattle Seahawks signed former St. Louis Rams first-round offensive tackle Alex Barron following a successful minicamp tryout. A former No. 19 overall pick in 2005 from Florida State, Barron started 74 of 76 games with St. Louis.

He spent the 2010 season with the Dallas Cowboys following a trade with one start in 11 games and was with the New Orleans Saints last season before being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury and then later released.

The Seahawks also signed two other tryout players: cornerback Donny Lisowski (Montana) and tight end Cooper Helfet (Duke).

Seattle also signed former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Andrew Mitchell.

The Seahawks cut linebacker Adrian Moten, offensive lineman Brent Osborne, cornerback London Durham and tackle Jon Opperud. For more coverage of the NFL, go to Follow me on Twitter: @RavensIn
