Bears sign Nate Collins

The Chicago Bears have signed former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle Nate Collins to a one-year contract. Collins previously visited the Seattle Seahawks. Collins was with Jaguars before they removed their qualifying offer. Collins, 24, is a 6-foot-2, 296-pound former University of Virginia player who had 10 tackles and a half-sack in 12 games last season.

Collins is facing a single charge of possession of marijuana in Virginia.

Collins was arrested earlier this offseason following a traffic stop in Northern Virginia where he was pulled over for an illegal window tint.

The officer discovered an odor or marijuana and marijuana was found after he consented to a vehicle search. He was assigned an April 19 court date.
