Chad Ochocinco is a Dolphin

Former Pro Bowl wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has joined the Miami Dolphins on a one-year contract. Ochocinco announced the deal via his Ochocinco News Network. A league source confirmed the accuracy of his report

Ochocinco, 34, didn't grasp the playbook well with the New England Patriots and was cut this week. And he never developed good timing with quarterback Tom Brady.

Now, he gets a fresh start in the AFC East with the Dolphins where he should provide HBO's Hard Knocks program with a dose of excitement.

He caught just 15 passes for 276 yards and a touchdown last season for the Patriots, though, at a cost of $5.75 million.

He was acquired from the Bengals for a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick.

According to reports, Ochocinco jumped offsides at practice and frequently lined up in the wrong spot.

Ochocinco was cut even though he accepted a paycut from $3 million to $925,000 this offseason. For his career, Ochocinco has caught 766 passes for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns.
