Eagles claim defensive end Monte Taylor

The Philadelphia Eagles were awarded defensive end Monte Taylor off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. Taylor was signed by the Seahawks after going undrafted out of the University of Cincinnati. The other former Bearcats on the Eagles' roster: tight end Brent Celek, defensive end Trent Cole, wide receiver Mardy Gilyard and center Jason Kelce.

The 6-foot-5, 266-pound Taylor posted 24 total tackles, six tackles for loss, and five sacks in 24 games over two seasons at Cincinnati.

Last season, he registered four sacks and four tackles for a loss along with three forced fumbles.

At El Camino Community College, Taylor registered 45 tackles, eight blocked kicks and five interceptions.
