Colts sign DT Jason Shirley

The Indianapolis Colts have signed former Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Jason Shirley. Shirley has played offensive guard and defensive tackle for the Bengals. He has played in seven career games for the Bengals and the Carolina Panthers. For his career, he has recorded eight tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and one forced fumble.

A former Bengals fifth-round draft pick from Fresno State, Shirley had four tackles as a rookie.

He was on the Bengals' practice squad in 2009 and spent the season on the reserve/non-football injury list in 2010.

Signed by the Seattle Seahawks last year off the Bengals' practice squad, he was cut by Seattle and then joined the Panthers.

He played in the last four games of the regular season and had four tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and one forced fumble.
