Rams sign Chris Long to four-year deal

The St. Louis Rams have signed veteran defensive end Chris Long to a four-year contract extension. "We are thrilled to announce that Chris Long has agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension," the Rams announced. Long, 27, ranked seventh in the league with a career-high 13 sacks last season. Long was heading into the final year of a six-year, $56.5 million contract.

The son of Hall of Fame defensive end Howie Long, Long was drafted second overall out of the University of Virginia four years ago.

For his career, he has 149 career tackles, 30 1/2 sacks and six forced fumbles.
