It's not exactly a super year for drafting quarterbacks but there are some guys that will play on Sundays. Headlining this group is former West Virginia star Geno Smith in the FoxSportsNext/Scout.com quarterback rankings for the 2013 NFL Draft.

NFL Draft Story Central

1) Geno Smith (6-2/218)
West Virginia
Smith played all four seasons in Morgantown and this past year passed for over 4,200 yards, 42 touchdowns and six interceptions. Smith possesses a good arm and can make all the NFL throws. While he's not RG3 or Michael Vick, Smith has good speed and athletic ability. This kid is a solid leader who doesn't lack confidence. Smith had an outstanding pro-day. He's not a plug and play guy like some of the group from this past draft but he has all the necessary tools and work ethic to be a very good signal caller on Sunday.

2) Matt Barkley (6-2/227)
USC
Barkley had a big junior season one year ago and would have likely been the third quarterback taken in last year's draft. But he elected to stay for senior campaign and had a rough fall. Barkley suffered a shoulder injury. By all accounts he had a solid but not great pro day. Up to as many as seven teams are looking for signal callers and Barkley is a guy with four-years of college experience playing in a pro-system and he has a great pedigree. He possesses good arm strength but not great. Barkley is an accurate passer at his best in the short to intermediate game.

3) Mike Glennon (6-7/225)
North Carolina State
Over his final two seasons in Raleigh, Glennon threw for over 7,000 yards, 62 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. Glennon has a big arm and throws an exceptional deep ball. This is huge signal caller that lacks mobility and below average foot quickness. Still, there are plenty of elite quarterbacks that come to mind that are strictly pocket passers in the NFL. Certainly Glennon can one day become one of those guys.

4) Ryan Nassib (6-2/227)
Syracuse
There's no question that Nassib was a quarterback that improved greatly during his time at Syracuse. This past season in 2012 Nassib really came into his own. He threw for 3,749 yards, 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, surprising many and leading the Orange to an 8-5 campaign. This is a smart quarterback that knows where to go with the football. He has good arm strength, toughness in the pocket and plays with a lot of poise. I also like his anticipation when throwing timing routes.

5) Tyler Bray (6-6/232)
Tennessee
There's no question that Bray has an NFL arm and the strongest one of this year's draft prospects at quarterback. He can make every throw and it's that mindset that sometimes gets him in trouble. If he can make better decisions with the ball there's no question he could have a long career in pro football. He's also added much needed weight to his 6-foot-6 frame. Bray is now 232-pounds and seems like a much more mature person. If he has grown up and continues to put in the work Bray has a very high ceiling.

6) Tyler Wilson (6-2/215)
Arkansas
Wilson finished his career in Fayetteville as the all-time leading passer in Arkansas history. He had a breakout junior season, throwing for over 3,000 yards and was named 1st team All-SEC. Wilson was hurt by the dismissal of Bobby Petrino in the off-season between his junior and senior seasons. He's a solid pocket passer with good arm strength and anticipation. Wilson shows the ability to not get frazzled in the pocket and play with poise. He can also buy some time and shows the ability to throw on the run.

7) Landry Jones (6-4/225)
Oklahoma
Jones leaves Norman with 50 career starts and a ton of experience. He finished as the Big 12 leader in career passing yards with 16,646. This is a classic, prototype from the pocket signal caller with very good size, arm strength and quicker release. But he becomes flawed under pressure from the defense and too often his eyes go from down field to bracing for the oncoming traffic in the pocket.

8) E.J. Manuel (6-4.5/237)
Florida State
Manuel never quite lived up to the billing of being one of the nation's top quarterbacks coming out of high school. He did show flashes during his time with FSU but never played with consistency, missing too many open receivers and throwing in coverage way too often. But you can't deny is size, athleticism and arm strength. Manuel is elusive in the pocket and can buy time or make plays with his legs. This past season he threw for 3,397 yards, 23 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 310 yards and four scores. There's no question Manuel has the physical tools but will he ever put it all together?

9) Sean Renfree (6-3/219)
Duke
Renfree is a quarterback that quietly threw for over 9,000 yards and 47 touchdowns during his last three seasons at Duke. He was groomed by one of the best in the college game in Blue Devil head coach David Cutcliffe. Renfree has good size, deceptive athleticism, shows good fundamentals and arm strength.

10) Matt Scott (6-2/213)
Arizona
Early in his career Scott battled the elder Nick Foles for the Arizona starting job. This past year under Rich Rodriguez Scott had a nice season, throwing for 3,620 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also rushed for 506 yards and six scores, showing his ability to run the football effectively. Scott possesses good size and runs well. He can throw the ball with zip but needs to work on using better touch when needed. Scott can also throw pretty accurately on the move. While he has the tools, Scott needs to continue to work on some fundamental things that mean a lot to a quarterback, most notably better footwork.

11) Zac Dysert (6-3/231)
Miami (Ohio)
Dysert had a nice college career while at Miami (Ohio), throwing for over 11,000 yards and 73 touchdown passes. This is a quarterback that plays with a lot of moxie in the pocket. Dysert has a good arm and throws with excellent touch. He can also throw on the run. He definitely has the tools to be an NFL quarterback. He needs to work on not locking in on one particular player and being a little more patient in letting plays develop.

12) Jordan Rodgers (6-1/212)
Vanderbilt
Jordan is the younger brother of Green Bay star signal caller Aaron Rodgers. Like Aaron, Jordan landed at Vanderbilt via the junior college route. Once a Commodore, he showed big improvement from one year to the next. Rodgers doesn't possess ideal size at 6-foot-1. But he had a good and accurate arm and shows that when he has time in the pocket. Rodgers can make the tough throws in tight windows and he has a nice release. He's good in the short to intermediate range. This past season he threw for 2,539 yards, 15 touchdowns and only five interceptions at Vandy.

13) Brad Sorensen (6-4/229)
Southern Utah
Sorenson is a former walk-on at BYU that ended up transferring to Southern Utah. There, he threw for 9,445 yards, 61 touchdowns and 27 interceptions. He has very good size and an even better arm. When given time in the pocket he can make all the throws look easy. His Achilles is when he's under pressure. Sorensen doesn't have the athleticism to escape the rush and buy time. He therefore makes some poor decisions with his throws under duress.

14) Colby Cameron (6-2/212)
Louisiana Tech
Cameron had a super 2012 campaign, winning the Sammy Baugh Award. He was All-WAC and the WAC Player of the Year. He threw an NCAA record 428 passes without an interception. Cameron completed almost 69% of his passes for 4,174 yards and 31 touchdowns and only five interceptions. He's accurate, makes very good decisions with the ball and has a nice release. Cameron just lacks that ideal NFL arm and is not the biggest signal caller in the world.

15) Jeff Tuel (6-3/223)
Washington State
Tuel has good size but has just hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy while at Washington State. He doesn't have that big and overpowering arm but does throw the ball with excellent touch and accuracy, especially on the long ball. This is a kid that played all four years in college and showed that when he played he was an accurate passer. In 2012, Tuel threw for 2,087 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions.

16) Collin Klein (6-4.5/226)
Kansas State
Klein is this draft class's Tim Tebow. He had a great final season at K-State, throwing for 2,641 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2012. Over his final two seasons he rushed for over 2,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. But does his game carry over to the NFL? He has size and mobility but has an odd delivery and release. He throws with a hitch and can have accuracy issues. At the same time, Klein's a very good leader and takes command in the huddle. He wants to be an NFL quarterback and will have to work hard to correct some fundamental flaws with his throwing.
