Eric Wright was arrested for misdemeanor

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had cause to trade cornerback Eric Wright to the San Francisco 49ers for a conditional 2014 draft pick. Wright was arrested July 12 on a misdemeanor driving under the influence charge in Los Angeles. Wright was arrested and posted $5,000 bond. He had a DUI arrest in 2012 in Los Angeles, but the case was dismissed.

"I can assure you the decisions we make as an organization are in the best interest of the team and therefore we decided to trade Eric Wight and we're looking forward to the start of the training camp and the players we have here,'' general manager Mark Dominik said.

Offensive tackle Donald Penn was apparently upset by the trade, Tweeting: "Can't believe this trade and I'm just gonna leave it at that." For more coverage of the NFL, go to
