CB Jaylen Watkins- In the first day of practice for the South squad, Florida CB Jaylen Watkins didn't appear very confident getting physical with receivers. On Tuesday, that changed. Not only did he talk about how much receivers hate it when cornerbacks get physical, he also showed the ability to play the ball, breaking up one pass late in practice after intercepting a pass early in the afternoon session.
LB Christian Jones- On Monday, Florida State LB Christian Jones dropped at least two passes during individual drills, but on Tuesday he shined when it came to pass-rushing drills. He said that is one of his strengths, referencing pass-rushing linebackers like Clay Matthews, and it showed.
Baylor G Cyril Richardson- During yesterday's practice, Baylor guard Cyril Richardson was put on his backside by Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald. It was an outstanding play from Donald but an embarrassing one for Richardson. After getting plowed over by one of the best interior pass rushers in the country, Richardson needed to bounce back on Day 2. During today's session, Richardson rebounded in a strong way and was much more stout during 1-on-1 pass-rush drills, showing good balance and a powerful initial hand punch.
Oregon WR Josh Huff- Huff was very inconsistent the first day of North practice. He dropped some very catchable balls and was not sharp during 1-on-1 drills. During today's session, Huff redeemed himself with a quality showing. Working out of the slot, Huff was very tough to cover, showcasing outstanding quickness and an ability to create separation out of his breaks. Despite being just 5-11, Huff has a thick frame, which allows him to be physical against press coverage and absorb contact while the ball is in the air.
