School Career-Record Results…Van Noy tied Jim Herrmann (1981, 83-84) for fourth on the school career list with 26.0 sacks, topped by Brandon Flint (33.0; 1980-83), Jan Jorgensen (28.5; 2006-09) and Randy Brock (28.5; 1991-94)…His 62.0 tackles-for-loss shattered the previous BYU all-time mark of 44.0 by Jan Jorgensen. The only other Cougar with at least forty stops-for-loss in a career is David Nixon (43.0; 2003, 06-08).

High School, where he played on both sides of the ball, earning first-team All-State honors as an outside linebacker and H-Back…As a junior, Van Noy recorded 69 tackles with 24 stops-for-loss, seven sacks, seven fumbles caused and two interceptions…Also amassed 805 yards receiving with thirteen touch-downs to earn All-Area and All-Conference honors…As a senior, he managed to pull in 35 passes for 731 yards and 18 touchdowns, along with rushing for 121 yards on ten carries. Defensively, he had 79 tackles (55 solos), ten stops-for-loss, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 14 sacks and one interception for a score, leading the team to a 14-0 record along with capturing the Class 4A state championship…Received a four-star grade and was rated the 24th-best athlete in the nation, along with placing fourth on the Nevada Top 15 list compiled by Rivals.com…Was also a four-star prospect and considered the 11th-best weak-side linebacker in the country, according to Scout.com…In addition to his football skills, he was an All-Conference pick in track, competing in the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays…Also in basketball and baseball.
