Steelers Draft Preview

Here's a look at what Pittsburgh did this off-season and their needs going into the draft.

Pittburgh Steelers
2014 draft picks:
1st round (15), 2(46), 3(97), 4(118), 5(157), 5(173), 6(192), 6(215), 7(230)

The Steelers finished a disappointing 8-8 but this is a team that did play much better in the second half of the season. Still, there has been plenty of roster turnover already this off-season and they have nine picks in the upcoming draft.

Needs
1. Cornerback

Pittsburgh needs to address this position in a big way and you would think that they would do it early rather than later. They are in a great spot with their first pick to land a good one. They could also go another direction there and nab a cornerback with their second pick.

2. Wide Receiver
The Steelers lost Emmanuel Sanders in free agency but picked up Lance Moore and Darius Heyward-Bey. Will those two scare anyone? They are role players at best. Pittsburgh needs a big play wide receiver in a big way for Big Ben.

3. Defensive Line
Pittsburgh could use help at both nose tackle and defensive end (five technique). It will be interesting to see where they address these two positions.

4. Safety
I see this as another position of need. The Steelers did sign Michael Mitchell in free agency. They could very well land the HaHa Clinton-Dix or Calvin Pryor in the first round with where they are positioned, if they choose.
