Clowney still leading in Mock Draft Muncher

Jadeveon Clowney was the most selected player for the Houston Texans at No. 1 overall, but there is never consensus, as our Mock Draft Muncher showed for every pick in the top two rounds with more than a dozen mocks munched and analyzed.

It's been almost two months since we first starting inputting data into the Mock Draft Muncher after finding two-round mock drafts to analyze. That's a long time to change minds and analysis on players, and it shows.

Many of the mocks have three or four versions that have been applied. What started out as a question of quarterback or Jadeveon Clowney with the first pick now seems to be answered. In all but two of the mock drafts, Clowney was the first choice. Central Florida's Blake Bortles was the pick in the other two.

But Bortles wasn't the second selection for the majority of mock drafts. That honor went to Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robison, who was selected to St. Louis in seven of the mock drafts munched by Bortles went third to the Jacksonville Jaguars, although that was hardly a consensus. LB Khalil Mack, QB Teddy Bridgewater and Clowney all got multiple votes for the Jaguars.

Manziel was the second quarterback taken, and the team he went to was no surprise – the Cleveland Browns have long been rumored as a landing spot for Manziel.

The Minnesota Vikings, the last of the so-called "quarterback-needy teams" in the top eight selections were, indeed, given a quarterback in the Mock Draft Muncher and they got Bridgewater. Interestingly, Derek Carr also was selected by the Vikings in four mock drafts that we munched.

In between Cleveland at No. 4 and the Vikings at No. 8, WR Sammy Watkins was selected by the Oakland Raiders in six of the mocks munched, LB Mack went to the Atlanta Falcons with five selections, and WR Mike Evans was taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in six of the mocks munched.

The biggest majority votes in the second half of the first round went to the Miami Dolphins picking OT Zack Martin at No. 19 (selected in eight mocks) and the San Diego Chargers picking NT Louis Nix at No. 25 (selected in seven mocks munched).

Bortles, Manziel and Bridgewater were the only three quarterbacks awarded in the first round, but Jimmy Garoppolo (Houston at No. 33 and Jacksonville at No. 39), Derek Carr (Oakland at No. 36), and Zach Mettenberger (Arizona at No. 52) all went in the second round.

Clowney had the earliest average selection at 1.31 and Bridgewater had the widest range of the first-round quarterbacks (from third to 39th),
