• There are 2,178 players in the NFL.

• 1.1 million boys play high school football at 15,500 high schools throughout the U.S.

Here’s a look at the top nine high schools who have produced the most current NFL players in part six of this NFL roster series breakdown.

1) Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas (12)
The Raiders have a league lead 12 players currently in the NFL. This list includes running back Giovani Bernard (Bengals), offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert (Steelers), wide receiver Leonard Hankerson (Redskins), safety Major Wright (Bucs), defensive tackle Geno Atkins (Bengals), offensive tackle Sam Young (Jaguars), long snapper Jeremy Cain (Bears), cornerback Marcus Roberson (Rams), cornerback Lamarcus Joyner (Rams), offensive lineman Brandon Linder (Jaguars), running back James White (Patriots), and safety Dezmen Southward (Falcons). The last five here are all rookies.

Stating the obvious here, St. Thomas Aquinas has been one of the nation’s best programs for some time now. In this class of 2015 they have nine players committed to different D1 college programs with four additional that have not made their pledges yet. This number should only grow in the coming years. Future NFLers are defensive lineman Joey Bosa (Ohio State), wide receiver Rashad Greene (FSU), offensive tackle Bobby Hart (FSU), and cornerback Cody Riggs (Notre Dame).

2) Miami (Fla.) Northwestern (8)
Wide receiver Tommy Streeter (Jaguars), wide receiver Kenbrell Thompkins (Patriots), offensive lineman Brandon Washington (Rams), linebacker Sean Spence (Steelers), linebacker Lavonte David (Bucs), cornerback Anthony Gaitor (Cardinals), linebacker Randell Johnson (Bills) and quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (Vikings). Many of these guys starred on their 15-0 state title team in 2007 that also won the mythical national championship. Ironically it was an unknown safety prospect (David) that has emerged as the NFL star in a high school team loaded with stars. Bridgewater was a freshman at the time.

3) Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville (6)
Over the past decade of so Glenville has been one of the top prospect producers from the Midwest. Their NFL alumni list includes wide receiver Ted Ginn (Cardinals), safety Donte Whitner (Browns), defensive tackle Davon Coleman (Cowboys), linebacker Jonathan Newsome (Colts), safety Christian Bryant (Rams) and linebacker Jayrone Elliot (Packers).

3) Pahokee (Fla.) (6)
Defensive tackle Micanor Regis (Panthers), cornerback Janoris Jenkins (Rams), cornerback Bill Bentley (Lions), linebacker Pernell McPhee (Ravens), running back Antoine Smith (Falcons) and wide receiver Anquan Boldin (49ers) are all alum from Pahokee.

3) Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson (6)
Linebacker Marcus Ball (Saints), linebacker Bruce Irvin (Seahawks), linebacker Kelvin Sheppard (Dolphins), defensive end Jermaine Cunningham (Jets), linebacker Perry Riley (Redskins) and safety Kenny Ladler (Bills) are all from Stephenson. It seems as though this school develops as many as any high school in the South of late.

6) Gardena (Calif.) Juniper Serra (5)
Safety Duke Ihenacho (Redskins), wide receiver Robert Woods (Bills), wide receiver Paul Richardson (Seahawks), cornerback Bene Benwikere (Panthers), and wide receiver Marqise Lee (Jaguars) are from Serra.

6) Colton (Calif.) (5)
Colton has five former players in the NFL. Linebacker Allen Bradford (Browns), cornerbacks Jimmy Smith (Ravens), cornerback Shareece Wright (Chargers), safety Daniel Sorensen (Chiefs) and safety Nate Behre (Giants) are all alum of this school.

6) Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey (5)
Defensive end Keith Browner (Texans), cornerback Jeremy Harris (Jaguars), safety Rahim Moore (Broncos), cornerback Chris Owens (Chiefs), and wide receiver Robert Herron (Bucs) all graduated from Dorsey in L.A.

6) Suwannee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge (5)
There’s no doubt that this high school program has truly been on the rise over the past decade or so. Five Peachtree Ridge alumni are currently in the NFL in punter Drew Butler (Cardinals), linebacker Kevin Minter (linebacker), defensive lineman Cameron Heyward (Steelers), cornerback Bradley Roby (Broncos) and offensive tackle Ja'Waun James (Dolphins).
