2015 NFL Mock Draft Final Version

The NFL Draft is two days away and here is my final mock of 2015. Do the quarterbacks go one-two? How many defensive linemen/pass rushers are taken in the first round? Will Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon break the first round hex on running backs? If so, where do they fall? Assuming Tampa Bay selects Jameis Winston with the top pick the draft intrigue begins with pick two. What will the Titans do?

The NFL Draft is now two days away. Tampa Bay is on the clock. What quarterback do the Buccaneers go with - Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota or does Tampa Bay trade out of the spot? How many pass rushers get selected in the top half of the first round?

Everyone assumes the Bucs will select Winston and the draft will really begin with the Titans and their No. 2 overall selection. What will Tennessee do? Hang on to the pick and nab Mariota, draft Leonard Williams or an edge rusher or trade out of the spot? I have my thoughts below.

Another story line to consider is former Georgia running back Todd Gurley. A few reports have surfaced that his injured knee is right on track in his rehab process, meaning he will be more than likely ready for training camp. If healthy there's no question this is the top back to enter the league since Adrian Peterson. In this mock draft, Gurley is taken inside the top ten.

Check out all my picks in my latest mock draft below. There are also some changes throughout.

This draft is dominated by underclassmen listed here.

Note: The Browns own the Bills first-round selection after Buffalo traded up with Cleveland last year to select wide receiver Sammy Watkins. New Orleans just obtained Seattle's first round pick (No. 31) in the Jimmy Graham trade.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Height: 6'4
Weight:231
Hometown: Bessemer, Ala.
College: Florida State
Class: 2014 SO
Position: QB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 8
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Lovie Smith
2014 Record: 2-14

ANALYSIS: Finally draft week is here and everyone is expecting the Bucs to pick quarterback Jameis Winston over Marcus Mariota. Tampa Bay has glaring holes to address on the line of scrimmage at both tackle and guard. The Bucs also needs to find a pass rusher, middle linebacker, and a safety in this draft. Will someone blow the Tampa Bay brass away with a trade offer? If not, Winston is the call.

2
Tennessee Titans

Height: 6'4
Weight:222
Hometown: Honolulu, Hi.
College: Oregon
Class: 2014 JR
Position: QB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 7
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Ken Whisenhunt
2014 Record: 2-14

ANALYSIS: I find it hard to believe Tennessee would turn away from a signal caller like Marcus Mariota. It’s my contention they draft the former Oregon Duck or trade out of the spot to someone that wants him and grab extra picks. One way or another I see the reigning Heisman Trophy winner going No. 2 to Tennessee or to someone else.

3
Jacksonville Jaguars

Player: Dante Fowler
Height: 6'3
Weight:261
Hometown: St. Petersburg, Fla.
College: Florida
Class: 2014 JR
Position: OLB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 3
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Gus Bradley
2014 Record: 3-13

ANALYSIS: I am completely torn here on what the Jaguars will do. Do they go for an interior presence in Leonard Williams who’s ideal at the five-technique in their scheme or more an edge/pass rush presence like Dante Fowler or Vic Beasley? I am going with Fowler.

RND 1
4
Oakland Raiders

Height: 6'5
Weight:302
Hometown: Daytona Beach, Fla.
College: USC
Class: 2014 JR
Position: DT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 1
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Jack Del Rio
2014 Record: 3-13

ANALYSIS: While so many have Oakland pegged to land a wide receiver like Amari Cooper or Kevin White, I simply don’t see Reggie McKenzie or Jack Del Rio passing on Leonard Williams from USC if he’s still on the board. Williams is the top overall prospect in this draft and would bring a huge presence to their defensive front. I just see much more value of taking Williams here and getting wide receiver help later on unless Oakland finds a trade partner and can add picks.

5
Washington Redskins

Player: Vic Beasley
Height: 6'3
Weight:246
Hometown: Adairsville, Ga.
College: Clemson
Class: 2014 SR
Position: OLB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 10
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Jay Gruden
2014 Record: 3-13

ANALYSIS: Here's another team that could go in two different directions, addressing the offensive or defensive front. The Redskins need to protect RG3 better and would have their pick of tackles. I had Stanford's Andrus Peat penciled in at this spot a few times. But now I have Washington addressing their pass rush by nabbing Vic Beasley here. He would be the ideal replacement for Brian Orakpo.

6
New York Jets

Player: Amari Cooper
Height: 6'1
Weight:211
Hometown: Miami, Fla.
College: Alabama
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 2
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Todd Bowles
2014 Record: 4-12

ANALYSIS: I think the Jets think long and hard about running back Todd Gurley here if they decide to stay put. New York is a team that could certainly be on the move, especially for a quarterback. But they could also nab one of the draft's safest and best prospects in wide receiver Amari Cooper.

RND 1
7
Chicago Bears

Height: 6'2
Weight:339
Hometown: Auburn, Wa
College: Washington
Class: 2014 SR
Position: DT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 8
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: John Fox
2014 Record: 5-11

ANALYSIS: This is another tricky pick, especially considering two facts. First, the Bears traded away wide receiver Brandon Marshall and need help at this position. Second, there’s a new sheriff in town and he’s a defensive minded guy named John Fox. Chicago is switching to a 3-4 and needs more pieces to this defensive puzzle. The Bears could go for an anchor like Danny Shelton or a pass rusher like Randy Gregory or even Bud Dupree. This is a high spot for a nose tackle but I like Shelton here, especially considering you can get a very good wide receiver in rounds two or even three.

RND 1
8
Atlanta Falcons

Player: Alvin Dupree
Height: 6'4
Weight:269
Hometown: Irwington, Ga.
College: Kentucky
Class: 2014 SR
Position: DE
Rating:
Overall Rank: 28
Pos Rank: 4

Head Coach: Dan Quinn
2014 Record: 6-10

ANALYSIS: New Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn needs to find a pass rusher. Alvin Dupree gets the call here.. Something to watch with this franchise - it wouldn't surprise me to see Atlanta make a move up to so they can land Dante Fowler. Quinn coached Fowler at Florida.

RND 1
9
New York Giants

Player: Todd Gurley
Height: 6'1
Weight:222
Hometown: Tarboro, N.C.
College: Georgia
Class: 2014 JR
Position: RB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 12
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Tom Coughlin
2014 Record: 6-10

ANALYSIS: I could definitely see New York go and draft a pass rusher here or select am offensive tackle. They could even go and get another wide receiver to pair with Odell Beckham, Jr. Instead, they select arguably the most talented player in the draft in Todd Gurley. He could be the best running back to enter the league since Adrian Peterson. All signs point to his knee being fine. Reports have him ready and in a team's training camp this fall.

RND 1
10
St. Louis Rams

Height: 6'5
Weight:319
Hometown: Denison, Ia.
College: Iowa
Class: 2014 SR
Position: OT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 4
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Jeff Fisher
2014 Record: 6-10

ANALYSIS: Certainly the Rams could be one of a handful of teams that attempt to move up to potentially land one of the two quarterbacks. But there are no trades in this mock draft. I see St. Louis addressing their offensive front. Offensive lineman Brandon Scherff is a great pick at this spot and he can play right tackle or guard.

RND 1
11
Minnesota Vikings

Player: Trae Waynes
Height: 6'1
Weight:182
Hometown: Kenosha, Wis.
Class: 2014 JR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 6
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Mike Zimmer
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: I am so tempted to change my Minnesota mock pick to wide receiver Devante Parker but I have gone with Trae Waynes from practically the beginning. I still have strong feeling that the draft's top corner will be picked inside the top 10. But by who?

RND 1
12
Cleveland Browns

Height: 6'3
Weight:209
Hometown: Louisville, Ky.
College: Louisville
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 5
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Mike Pettine
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: What do the Browns do? They need a quarterback. Cleveland needs weapons at wide receiver and could use a right tackle. In this scenario the Browns can't pass on wide receiver DeVante Parker.

RND 1
13
New Orleans Saints

Height: 6'5
Weight:235
Hometown: Fishers, Ind.
College: Nebraska
Class: 2014 JR
Position: DE
Rating:
Overall Rank: 16
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Sean Payton
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: The Saints could get an elite pass rusher or wide receiver here. Like some other teams in front of them New Orleans can get an edge player here and land a big time wide receiver with their second selection in the first round. The Saints gets a top ten talent in Randy Gregory. He's one of this draft's top pass rushers, something this defense really needs.

RND 1
14
Miami Dolphins

Player: Kevin White
Height: 6'3
Weight:215
Hometown: Plainfield, N.J.
College: West Virginia
Class: 2014 SR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 14
Pos Rank: 3

Head Coach: Joe Philbin
2014 Record: 8-8

ANALYSIS: The Dolphins are another club that could be active on Thursday making a move up for a wide receiver, Todd Gurley or to make sure they secure a cornerback. But here, Miami gets lucky to have the speedy wideout from West Virginia slide to South Beach in Kevin White.

RND 1
15
San Francisco 49ers

Player: Shane Ray
Height: 6'3
Weight:245
Hometown: Kansas City, Mo.
College: Missouri
Class: 2014 JR
Position: DE
Rating:
Overall Rank: 13
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Jim Tomsula
2014 Record: 8-8

ANALYSIS: The 49ers have lost so much this off-season that they could go a bunch of different ways with this first pick. San Fran catches some luck as defensive end Shane Ray falls to them at this spot.

RND 1
16
Houston Texans

Height: 6'0
Weight:197
Hometown: Oakland, Calif.
College: Washington
Class: 2014 JR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 9
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Bill O'Brien
2014 Record: 9-7

ANALYSIS: The Texans could use some help at wide receiver in a big way, especially after cutting ties with Andre Johnson. But the play here is the talented cornerback from Washington, Marcus Peters.

RND 1
17
San Diego Chargers

Height: 6'1
Weight:215
Hometown: Kenosha, Wis.
College: Wisconsin
Class: 2014 JR
Position: RB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 15
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Mike McCoy
2014 Record: 9-7

ANALYSIS: I am sticking with the Chargers and Melvin Gordon here. He's been my pick to San Diego for months. I know they need help on the front but they can't pass on this running back from Wisconsin.

RND 1
18
Kansas City Chiefs

Height: 6'4
Weight:305
Hometown: Baton Rouge, La.
College: LSU
Class: 2014 SR
Position: OG
Rating:
Overall Rank: 18
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Andy Reid
2014 Record: 9-7

ANALYSIS: The Chiefs landed a good receiver in free agency, as Andy Reid is reunited with Jeremy Maclin, who he drafted when he coached the Eagles. Kansas City still needs help at this position but could address it later on in the draft. Reid goes the offensive line route and gets a really good one in La'el Collins from LSU.

RND 1
19
Cleveland Browns

Height: 6'6
Weight:329
Hometown: Miami, Fla.
College: Miami
Class: 2014 JR
Position: OT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 23
Pos Rank: 3

Head Coach: Mike Pettine
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: Cleveland will opt for a right tackle or defensive linemen here. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Browns nab defensive tackle Malcom Brown at this spot. But I think Cleveland continues to build up their offense, this time on the front with tackle Ereck Flowers.

RND 1
20
Philadelphia Eagles

Height: 6'6
Weight:237
Hometown: St. Louis, Mo.
College: Oklahoma
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 20
Pos Rank: 4

Head Coach: Chip Kelly
2014 Record: 10-6

ANALYSIS: The Eagles need help everywhere in the secondary and could go safety Landon Collins here or for a corner like Byron Jones. Instead, they opt for a big and talented wide receiver in Dorial Green-Beckham. His upside is off the charts.

RND 1
21
Cincinnati Bengals

Height: 6'3
Weight:215
Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa.
College: Arizona State
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 25
Pos Rank: 6

Head Coach: Marvin Lewis
2014 Record: 10-5-1

ANALYSIS: The Bengals are a hard team to figure. Right tackle and defensive line could be targets here. So to could be a wide receiver. I like pairing former Sun Devil Jaelen Strong with A.J. Green.

RND 1
22
Pittsburgh Steelers

Player: Eric Rowe
Height: 6'1
Weight:201
Hometown: Spring, Tx.
College: Utah
Class: 2014 SR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 26
Pos Rank: 3

Head Coach: Mike Tomlin
2014 Record: 11-5

ANALYSIS: The Steelers need help in the secondary. Here they land a big defensive back that will have the ability to play cornerback or safety in Utah's Eric Rowe.

RND 1
23
Detroit Lions

Player: Malcom Brown
Height: 6'2
Weight:319
Hometown: Brenham, Texas
College: Texas
Class: 2014 JR
Position: RB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 193
Pos Rank: 17

Head Coach: Jim Caldwell
2014 Record: 11-5

ANALYSIS: Ndamukuong Suh and Nick Fairley are gone because of free agency. In turn, the Lions traded for Haloti Ngata. He will be tremendous addition to the Detroit defensive front though he’s no Suh. The Lions still need help here, that's why Malcom Brown is the call.

RND 1
24
Arizona Cardinals

Height: 6'7
Weight:292
Hometown: Sacramento, Calif.
College: Oregon
Class: 2014 JR
Position: DT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 17
Pos Rank: 3

Head Coach: Bruce Arians
2014 Record: 11-5

ANALYSIS: The Cardinals could be in play for a running back depending on what really happens in front of them. Here, Arizona gets the athletic defensive end from Oregon in Arik Armstead.

RND 1
25
Carolina Panthers

Player: Andrus Peat
Height: 6'7
Weight:313
Hometown: Chandler, Az.
College: Stanford
Class: 2014 JR
Position: OT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 29
Pos Rank: 4

Head Coach: Ron Rivera
2014 Record: 7-8-1

ANALYSIS: If one of the first round offensive tackles is still on the board the Panthers will grab him. In this final mock scenario that’s the case with former Cardinal Andrus Peat. This kid has serious upside and fills a huge need in Carolina at right tackle.

RND 1
26
Baltimore Ravens

Player: Devin Smith
Height: 6'0
Weight:196
Hometown: Massillon, Oh.
College: Ohio State
Class: 2014 SR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 32
Pos Rank: 7

Head Coach: John Harbaugh
2014 Record: 10-6

ANALYSIS: The Ravens lost wide receiver Torrey Smith to the 49ers in free agency. He was a big play guy. I love Devin Smith from Ohio State here, arguably this draft's top deep threat and a player who I believe has tremendous upside in the NFL.

RND 1
27
Dallas Cowboys

Height: 6'1
Weight:175
Hometown: Clarksville, Md.
College: Wake Forest
Class: 2014 SR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 36
Pos Rank: 5

Head Coach: Jason Garrett
2014 Record: 12-4

ANALYSIS: The Cowboys have a number of needs but could very well go cornerback here. Kevin Johnson from Wake Forest gets the call if Dallas decides to stay at this spot. I believe this franchise will look long and hard to move up to grab one of the two elite running backs in Gurley or Gordon.

RND 1
28
Denver Broncos

Height: 6'5
Weight:313
Hometown: Moultrie, Ga.
College: Florida State
Class: 2014 SR
Position: C
Rating:
Overall Rank: 31
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Gary Kubiak
2014 Record: 12-4

ANALYSIS: I love offensive lineman Cameron Erving here because of his great versatility. He could be huge in helping the Broncos offensive front because he can play all five positions. He was very good at FSU as a tackle and even better as a center.

RND 1
29
Indianapolis Colts

Height: 6'0
Weight:228
Hometown: Geismar, La.
College: Alabama
Class: 2014 JR
Position: S
Rating:
Overall Rank: 24
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Chuck Pagano
2014 Record: 11-5

ANALYSIS: The Colts added some huge pieces in free agency with the additions of running back Frank Gore, wide receiver Andre Johnson, defensive tackle Kendall Langford, and pass rusher Trent Cole. Linebacker/safety Shaq Thompson is still out there but with this pick Indy goes for the draft's top safety in Landon Collins from Alabama.

RND 1
30
Green Bay Packers

Player: Byron Jones
Height: 6'1
Weight:199
Hometown: New Britian, Ct.
College: Uconn
Class: 2014 SR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 30
Pos Rank: 4

Head Coach: Mike McCarthy
2014 Record: 12-4

ANALYSIS: This defense could use another big body in the middle and could be in the mix for a middle linebacker. The Packers could also use some help at cornerback. A riser of late is a talented and versatile defensive back in Byron Jones from UConn.

RND 1
31
New Orleans Saints

Height: 6'2
Weight:212
Hometown: Lithonia, Ga.
College: UCF
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 50
Pos Rank: 8

Head Coach: Sean Payton
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: The Saints picked up the Seahawks pick here [along with center Max Unger] but they had to give up tight end Jimmy Graham. With the first pick New Orleans grabbed an edge guy in Randy Gregory Here, they go and get one of this draft's players that has been ascending in wide receiver Breshad Perriman.

RND 1
32
New England Patriots

Height: 6'4
Weight:336
Hometown: Washington, D.C.
College: Florida State
Class: 2014 JR
Position: DT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 51
Pos Rank: 6

Head Coach: Bill Belichick
2014 Record: 12-4

ANALYSIS: New England lost Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner via free agency and could go cornerback here. But with Eddie Goldman still on the board the Patriots nab him, especially with the free agency loss of Vince Wilfork.
