GM For A Night

I am playing general manager for tonight. Here's who I would pick if I were in charge of each team.

I am just about mocked out but thought I would do one more.

This one is a tad different. Rather than select who I thought each team would pick I played general manager and drafted who I would pick if I were in charge of all 32 NFL teams.

RND 1
1
Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Height: 6'4
Weight:231
Hometown: Bessemer, Ala.
College: Florida State
Class: 2014 SO
Position: QB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 8
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Lovie Smith
2014 Record: 2-14

ANALYSIS: No big surprise here, I am taking Jameis Winston, believing fully that he can be the franchise quarterback in Tampa for years to come, even with his character/maturity issues away from the game.

RND 1
2
Tennessee Titans

Height: 6'4
Weight:222
Hometown: Honolulu, Hi.
College: Oregon
Class: 2014 JR
Position: QB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 7
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Ken Whisenhunt
2014 Record: 2-14

ANALYSIS: I just can't turn my back on the potential of quarterback Marcus Mariota from Oregon. If I am the Titans it would take a sweet-heart deal to move out of this spot. Plus, I feel a whole lot better about my team's future with this former Duck at the helm.

RND 1
3
Jacksonville Jaguars

Player: Todd Gurley
Height: 6'1
Weight:222
Hometown: Tarboro, N.C.
College: Georgia
Class: 2014 JR
Position: RB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 12
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Gus Bradley
2014 Record: 3-13

ANALYSIS: If I am running the Jags I am looking hard at four players - Dante Fowler, Leonard Williams, Amari Cooper and Todd Gurley. The best help to get my young quarterback is Gurley, a true franchise running back. I make this pick knowing his rehab is on track and feeling comfortable that Jacksonville is getting a difference maker and the best offensive prospect in this draft class. And no, I have not been hanging out with Randy Gregory and Shane Ray.

RND 1
4
Oakland Raiders

Height: 6'5
Weight:302
Hometown: Daytona Beach, Fla.
College: USC
Class: 2014 JR
Position: DT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 1
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Jack Del Rio
2014 Record: 3-13

ANALYSIS: Williams is a versatile defensive tackle prospect that the Raiders can move all over the defensive front. He's the best prospect in this draft. I do this knowing I can grab a very good wide receiver with my second round selection.

RND 1
5
Washington Redskins

Player: Dante Fowler
Height: 6'3
Weight:261
Hometown: St. Petersburg, Fla.
College: Florida
Class: 2014 JR
Position: OLB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 3
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Jay Gruden
2014 Record: 3-13

ANALYSIS: I would personally sprint to the podium and submit my Redskins card with the name Dante Fowler on it. He's the best pass rusher in this draft.

RND 1
6
New York Jets

Player: Amari Cooper
Height: 6'1
Weight:211
Hometown: Miami, Fla.
College: Alabama
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 2
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Todd Bowles
2014 Record: 4-12

ANALYSIS: If I were the Jets I would think long and hard about getting Brandon Scherff here at No. 6. But I would rather have Amari Cooper. He will give the Jets instant impact at wide receiver.

RND 1
7
Chicago Bears

Height: 6'2
Weight:339
Hometown: Auburn, Wa
College: Washington
Class: 2014 SR
Position: DT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 8
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: John Fox
2014 Record: 5-11

ANALYSIS: If I am in Chicago I would address my defense at this spot, especially considering I am switching schemes and have to field the right personel. Vic Beasley is a perfect fit but everything starts up front. I need an anchor in the middle and that's why I pick Danny Shelton from Washington.

RND 1
8
Atlanta Falcons

Player: Vic Beasley
Height: 6'3
Weight:246
Hometown: Adairsville, Ga.
College: Clemson
Class: 2014 SR
Position: OLB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 10
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Dan Quinn
2014 Record: 6-10

ANALYSIS: This is a no-brainer for the Falcons… it's Vic Beasley. He will help improve Atlanta's pedestrian pass rush.

RND 1
9
New York Giants

Player: Andrus Peat
Height: 6'7
Weight:313
Hometown: Chandler, Az.
College: Stanford
Class: 2014 JR
Position: OT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 29
Pos Rank: 4

Head Coach: Tom Coughlin
2014 Record: 6-10

ANALYSIS: I strongly consider wide receiver DeVante Parker here if I am New York, drooling over pairing him up with Odell Beckham, Jr. But I have to protect Eli Manning and go with former Stanford offensive tackle Andrus Peat. He gets the call over Brandon Scherff in terms of linemen simply because Peat's a pure tackle.

RND 1
10
St. Louis Rams

Height: 6'3
Weight:209
Hometown: Louisville, Ky.
College: Louisville
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 5
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Jeff Fisher
2014 Record: 6-10

ANALYSIS: As much as I would love Brandon Scherff here I need a big time playmaker on the perimeter and decide between Kevin White and DeVante Parker. Parker gets the call because I think he's the safer pick.

RND 1
11
Minnesota Vikings

Player: Trae Waynes
Height: 6'1
Weight:182
Hometown: Kenosha, Wis.
Class: 2014 JR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 6
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Mike Zimmer
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: If I am the Vikings I would go get the draft's top cormerback in Trae Waynes, thinking how lucky I would be that he's still on the board.

RND 1
12
Cleveland Browns

Height: 6'5
Weight:319
Hometown: Denison, Ia.
College: Iowa
Class: 2014 SR
Position: OT
Rating:
Overall Rank: 4
Pos Rank: 1

Head Coach: Mike Pettine
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: I love Brandon Scherff and I know my coach loves versatile players that can play multiple positions. It would be an ideal marriage for the Browns offensive front.

Hometown: Oakland, Calif.
College: Washington
Class: 2014 JR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 9
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Sean Payton
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: If I am the Saints I would strongly consider consider Kevin White and Alvin Dupree at this spot. But I go with the best available player that meets a need on team and that's cornerback Marcus Peters.

RND 1
14
Miami Dolphins

Player: Kevin White
Height: 6'3
Weight:215
Hometown: Plainfield, N.J.
College: West Virginia
Class: 2014 SR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 14

Rating:
Overall Rank: 17
Pos Rank: 3

Head Coach: Jim Tomsula

College: Oklahoma
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:

Weight:215
Hometown: Kenosha, Wis.
College: Wisconsin
Class: 2014 JR
Position: RB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 15
Pos Rank: 2

Head Coach: Mike McCoy

College: USC
Class: 2014 JR
Position: WR
Rating:
Overall Rank: 21
Pos Rank: 5

Head Coach: Andy Reid

Position: RB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 193
Pos Rank: 17

Head Coach: Mike Pettine
2014 Record: 7-9

ANALYSIS: I have to get help on my defensive front, especially stopping the run. Here I am taking for Texas star Malcom Brown.

Class: 2014 SR
Position: CB
Rating:
Overall Rank: 26

Position: DE
Rating:
Overall Rank: 27
Pos Rank: 3

Head Coach: Marvin Lewis
2014 Record: 10-5-1

Pittsburgh Steelers

College: Alabama
Class: 2014 JR
Position: S
Rating:
Overall Rank: 24
