Carolina Survives Epic Giants Comeback to Stay Unbeaten

Late heroics by Cam Newton spoiled a Giants comeback and kept the Panthers perfect

The Carolina Panthers withstood a 28-point comeback on the road against the New York Giants, but moved to 14-0 thanks to late Cam Newton magic.

With under two minutes to play, the Giants, who'd trailed 35-7, capped the improbable rally with a 14-yard Eli Manning-to-Odell Beckham touchdown pass that tied the game at 35. With a MetLife Stadium crowd going bonkers, New York seemed poised to potentially end another epic NFL unbeaten streak.

But Newton easily picked apart the Giants' defense on the game's final drive, with completions of 9, 16 and 12 yards and a rushing gain for another 10, setting up a 43-yard Graham Gano field goal to win it at the buzzer, 38-35.
