Bills' Head Coach Rex Ryan Crosses Himself Before Chopper Ride

The Bills head coach took a helicopter ride with Buffalo legend Jim Kelly and made a divine appeal for some extra safety prior to takeoff.

Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan and Bills legend Jim Kelly lifted off in style, in an aptly colored blue, red and white helicopter, from Kelly’s charity golf tournament on Monday.

And for Ryan, seat belts and a trusted pilot were not enough when it comes to safety measures.

This year's tournament, taking place in Batavia, New York, marks the 30th consecutive year that Kelly’s charity, Kelly for Kids, has run an event. Attendees will include NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the current Bills roster, former Bills coach Marv Levy, Dan Marino and some of Kelly's former teammates.

Just two years ago, Kelly was too sick to attend his charity gala, but after battling sinus cancer, Kelly is back on the course once again, this year in a cowboy hat to represent the event's country theme.

Ryan led the Bills to an 8-8 record in his first season as head coach in 2015.
