Portland Trail Blazers guard Pat Connaughton throws football 80 yards

Portland Trail Blazers guard Pat Connaughton proved he can throw a football 80 yards. The question is how many NFL quarterbacks can complete the same feat?

Portland Trail Blazers guard Pat Connaughton shows off his athleticism by posting a tweet of him throwing a football a cool 80 yards, weekend shenanigans as he put it. He also tagged the New England Patriots with the hashtag #NFLDraft2007? to possibly get the conversation going. We all know Bill Belichick is on the lookout for unique talent like when he drafted former Kent State quarterback Julian Edelman in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Connaughton was drafted by Portland in the 2nd round of the NBA Draft, but before that took place, the former Notre Dame athlete was selected in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. Connaughton was also very effective on the diamond as a starting pitcher in college thanks to his near 100 mph fastball. He pitched six games for the Frederick Keys, where he earned over $400,000 dollars during the process. But even with his baseball achievements, no one could have predicted him throwing a pigskin almost the entire length of a football field.

Who knows, maybe Connaughton can become the next maestro at long-distance passing in the NBA. In his rookie year, Connaughton didn't play a lot of minutes, only appearing in 34 overall games.
