Reports: Philadelphia to host 2017 NFL Draft

Philadelphia is poised to host next year's NFL Draft.

The NFL is expected to announce Philadelphia as the 2017 Draft host, according to multiple reports

The draft was held for 57 consecutive years in the Big Apple before being moved to Chicago for the last two years.

The announcement comes a month after city officials denied they'd been awarded the draft. Chairman of the Philadelphia Democratic Party Bob Brady claimed that Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney informed him that the city would host next year's NFL Draft, but both sides weren't on the same page:

“I can’t speak for the Congressman, but I can tell you that the City has definitely not been awarded the draft," Kenney spokeswoman Lauren Hitt told a reporter from the Philadelphia Inquirer soon after Brady's remarks went public.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected QB Carson Wentz as the second pick overall in 2016 NFL Draft. Ironically, the Eagles don't have a first-round pick in next year's draft.
