Bears Tuesday Tidbits

News and notes on the Chicago Bears.

--OL Terrence Metcalf hopes to receive clearance to return to full contact after having four screws inserted in his fractured middle finger after the preseason opener. Metcalf said he could play Sunday if he can practice Wednesday, but coach Dick Jauron said he wouldn't count on him.
--WR Dez White had 12 passes thrown in his direction in Week One and he managed just three catches for 28 yards. One of the passes was intercepted and a couple others were bad throws by Kordell Stewart. White had one drop and the rest of the time he just wasn't open, even though the 49ers' best corner, Ahmed Plummer, was usually covering Marty Booker.
--TE Desmond Clark, supposedly the long-sought-after, pass-catching tight end that the Bears have lacked for years, had two receptions for nine yards in the opener, although one was for a three-yard TD.
--OG Josh Warner, scheduled to make his first NFL start on Sunday in place of injured Chris Villarrial (knee), would face DT Chris Hovan, probably the Vikings' top defender.
--CB R.W. McQuarters, who spent most of his time covering Terrell Owens (seven catches, 112 yards) last week, gets Randy Moss this week, who had nine catches for 150 yards and a touchdown last week.
