Patriots Tuesday Tidbits

News and notes on the New England Patriots.

--C Damien Woody will probably appear on the injury report with what is currently an undisclosed injury. He was hurt trying to take Buffalo's Sam Adams on an interception return, but remained in the game until leaving in the fourth quarter with the Patriots trailing by a wide margin. Based on that, he would be expected to play.
--LB Ted Johnson apparently suffered a left foot injury in Buffalo, but stayed in the game. He wore a portable cast on his left foot Monday and may not be able to go this week. If he doesn't play, Roman Phifer and Tedy Bruschi would man the inside linebacker spots. The Patriots could also switch to a 4-3 front.
--S Antwan Harris has some work to do this week after struggling in his first start at safety in place of Lawyer Milloy. The Bills exploited Harris' inexperience throughout the first half last Sunday when building a 21-0 lead as the fill-in safety had some communication troubles. One such adjustment that wasn't made resulted in a 49-yard completion from Drew Bledsoe to Eric Moulds when Harris was supposed to give Ty Law inside help, but was caught out of position.
--S Chris Akins could push Antwan Harris for playing time this week. Akins is mostly a special teamer who is still learning the system, which is one reason he is behind Harris on the depth chart at this point.
--WR David Givens could find himself back on the active roster this week after sitting out the Bills game. The Patriots wide receivers caught only six passes including none in the first half. Deion Branch's dropped touchdown pass could cost him playing time.
