Ravens Tuesday Tidbits

News and notes on the Baltimore Ravens.

--RB Musa Smith had knee surgery a week ago and is out for the Browns game. He could return to practice as early as next week.
--WR Frank Sanders (dislocated toes) is moving around well and will practice Wednesday. If Sanders can show he can cut effectively, he will return to the starting lineup.
--CB Corey Fuller strained his quadricep in his left leg and did not play the second half of the season opener. Fuller said the injury is sore but shouldn't keep him from starting the Browns game.
--CB Alvin Porter (hamstring) could return to practice after sitting out last week. He might be another week from being able to play in a game.
--CB Tom Knight missed the season opener with a strained hamstring but will practice this week. He expects to play nickel back against the Browns but he is known as a slow healer.
--DE Joe Salave'a re-signed with the team after being cut last week, adding depth to the defensive line. The veteran takes the roster spot of backup offensive lineman Jason Thomas, who was released.
--OL Jason Thomas was released after one game so the team could re-sign defensive end Joe Salave'a. The backup offensive lineman played special teams in the season opener after having a poor preseason.
--K Wade Richey will have a chance at kicking field goals beyond 50 yards. He is also the kickoff specialist and has a stronger leg than placekicker Matt Stover.
--K Matt Stover will kick field goals from 50 yards and in. He still has one of the most accurate legs in the game but kickoff specialist Wade Richey gives the team a better chance at hitting the longer field goals.
--TE Todd Heap should split out less as a receiver since Frank Sanders should return from a foot injury. The team will still likely move Heap around to keep defenses from keying on him.
