--RB Clinton Portis left late in the second quarter with a chest injury and did not return. X-rays were negative and coaches were hopeful he could play next Monday against Oakland.
--QB Jake Plummer left late in the
second quarter with a first-degree shoulder separation and did not return. His
status for the Raiders game is questionable, though he said he hoped to
--QB Steve Beuerlein was preparing himself to start
against Oakland regardless of Jake Plummer's health and knows he needs to play
better if Denver is to win. He was 7 of 16 for 98 yards but he also missed on a
couple of passes, and fumbled once.
--FB Mike Anderson showed he
can fill in at tailback in a pinch if Clinton Portis isn't healthy. Anderson
gained 65 yards on 16 carries with one TD after moving up from fullback when
Portis went down.
--DT Dorsett Davis lost his job to Darius Holland before the opener, and on Sunday the Broncos had him rotating in at
defensive end just to get him on the field. He finished with one tackle.
