The Day After; Chicago

News and notes on the Chicago Bears.

--QB Kordell Stewart's head injury that forced him out for the final couple plays Sunday night is not considered serious. He banged his head against ORT Aaron Gibson's leg and likened the feeling to a minor stinger.
--RB Adrian Peterson did not touch the ball against the Vikings because Anthony Thomas had a 34-yard run early and the coaching staff wanted to stick with him. Peterson split carries and playing time with Thomas in the opener.
--FB Stanley Pritchett caught two passes for 11 yards vs. the Vikings but looked more interested in getting out of bounds than initiating contact with a tackler.
--WR-KR Ahmad Merritt averaged 23.0 yards on four kickoff returns and generally ran with more vision and aggressiveness than in the opener, when he averaged just 18.9 yards.
--CB-PR R.W. McQuarters had just one opportunity as a punt returner and picked up 11 yards on a ball that most players probably would have fair caught.
