--SLB Sedrick Hodge suffered a hairline fracture to a small bone in his lower right leg against the Texans. Saints coach Jim Haslett said doctors won't know if Hodge will need surgery until the swelling in the leg goes down, but he could be sidelined from 6-to-12 weeks.
--LB Roger Knight, who has
played in only 19 NFL games with no starts, will likely start Sunday against the
Tennessee Titans in Hodge's absence. Knight will play on first and second downs,
with WLB Derrick Rodgers manning that position in the nickel and dime
--LCB Dale Carter sustained a concussion and also
fractured the orbital bone around his right eye. He will have surgery this week
and could be sidelined for up to a month.
--DT Johnathan Sullivan tore the meniscus in his left knee while recording his first NFL sack.
He will undergo arthroscopic surgery later this week and will likely be out for
a couple of weeks.
--DT Kenny Smith will likely start in
Sullivan's place Sunday against the Titans.
--FB Terrelle Smith
