The Day After; New Orleans

News and notes on the New Orleans Saints.

--SLB Sedrick Hodge suffered a hairline fracture to a small bone in his lower right leg against the Texans. Saints coach Jim Haslett said doctors won't know if Hodge will need surgery until the swelling in the leg goes down, but he could be sidelined from 6-to-12 weeks.
--LB Roger Knight, who has played in only 19 NFL games with no starts, will likely start Sunday against the Tennessee Titans in Hodge's absence. Knight will play on first and second downs, with WLB Derrick Rodgers manning that position in the nickel and dime packages.
--LCB Dale Carter sustained a concussion and also fractured the orbital bone around his right eye. He will have surgery this week and could be sidelined for up to a month.
--DT Johnathan Sullivan tore the meniscus in his left knee while recording his first NFL sack. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery later this week and will likely be out for a couple of weeks.
--DT Kenny Smith will likely start in Sullivan's place Sunday against the Titans.
--FB Terrelle Smith strained his left knee, but the Saints are hoping he'll be able to go against the Titans.
