New Orleans Tuesday Tidbits

Tuesday news and notes on the New Orleans Saints.

--The Saints signed former New England Patriots safety Victor Green to add depth to a secondary that has lost strong safety Mel Mitchell and cornerback Dale Carter to injuries. Green, an 11-year veteran, played in 16 games last season for the Patriots with six starts.
--To open a spot on the 53-man roster for Victor Green, the Saints waived third-string quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan.
--LB Roger Knight, a second-year player who has never started an NFL game, will start Sunday against the Tennessee Titans in place of strongside linebacker Sedrick Hodge.
--DT Kenny Smith will start in Johnathan Sullivan's place Sunday against the Titans.
--CB Fred Thomas will get the starting assignment at left cornerback in place of Dale Carter. Fakhir Brown or Keyuo Craver will move into Thomas' regular spot as the nickel corner.
