Panthers Monday Madness

Panthers team news and notes.

--LB Dan Morgan was held out of Monday's practice with a hamstring injury, but coach John Fox said he expects the team's middle linebacker to practice Wednesday and then return to action on Sunday against Atlanta. Morgan did not play against Tampa Bay.
--LB Mike Caldwell remains uncertain for this week's game against Atlanta. Once healthy, Caldwell has a chance to challenge Greg Favors for a starting job at outside linebacker. Caldwell is nursing a knee sprain.
--WR Walter Young was active in Week 2, but didn't get but a couple of balls thrown his way. Young has talent but the team is slowly working him in.
--CB Ricky Manning Jr. continues to draw rave reviews from the coaching staff and has increased his role as the team's nickel back. Don't be surprised if at some point down the road - either later this year or next year - that Manning is starting for the Panthers.
--LG Doug Brzezinski has been a free agent bust for the Panthers thus far. Brzezinski, who signed a three-year deal with the Panthers, was not even the second best guard on the team and was inactive for the Tampa Bay game.
