Detroit News to Note

The Detroit Lions came out of their 20-16 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday relatively unscathed. Despite losing a hard-fought battle in Denver, head coach Steve Mariucci had to be impressed with the continued development of his squad.

"We made some strides on Sunday that we have been looking for and have seen in practice," Mariucci said. "Defensively, we were much more consistent against a good Denver offense. Still, we have many things to work on to improve and become a good football team."

News to note:

S Brian Walker (hamstring) should be fine to practice Wednesday, Oct. 1.

RB Shawn Bryson (knee) felt good Sunday after suffering with swelling in his knee recently.

RB Olandis Gary played very well according to the team and showed some quality running ability that he possessed prior to knee surgery and a broken leg while a member of the Denver Broncos.

QB Joey Harrington (finger) is making it through the recovery of his finger injury.

DL Kelvin Pritchett (shoulder) made it through the game in Week 4 with a shoulder injury.
