Scouting Report: Cedric Houston

Terrific athlete that's gradually growing into a complete running back.

Full Name: Cedric Houston School: Tennessee

Ht: 6-0 Wt: 210 40: 4.48 Number: 21

Bio:

2002: Led the Vols with 745 rushing yards despite being slowed by a thumb injury midseason. Topped the 100-yard mark five times including four consecutive games. Became the first back since Travis Henry in 2000 to rush for more than 100 yards in four consecutive games.

2001: Finished the season as the Vols' second-leading rusher with 106 yards.

The Good: Terrific athlete that's gradually growing into a complete running back. Quick-footed, bounces it to the outside and avoids piles or defenders. Runs with nice lean, patient and immediately gets through the hole when he finds it. Decent receiver out of the backfield.

The Bad: Has never completed an entire season as the Volunteers' feature runner. An injured thumb in 2002 required surgery and slowed his development.

The Skinny: Houston offers terrific size/speed numbers and innate skills to be an early draft pick and every-down runner in the future. That said, he must stay healthy and pick up his overall play, hence meeting his upper most level.
