Biography: Rod Malone

Biography:

Rod is an athletic running back with speed and power. Coming out of North Dakota State, Rod compares favorably with Lamar Gordon of the St. Louis Rams (3rd Round Pick, 2002).  We believe that Rod has more upside due to his advantage in size, strength and speed over Lamar.  When Rod got the opportunity to carry the load during the last 4 games of the season, Rod ran for 674 yards on 127 carries (5.3 average) with 10 TD's, and also had10 receptions for 78 yards and 1 TD.  That stretch proves his durability and his ability to carry the team on his shoulders.  At Rochester Community College Rod led the team to a 12-0 record, winning the National Juco Division III Championship in 2000. Rod has the ability to break long runs and his strength allows him to bounce off tackles. He has good hands that make him a solid receiver as well.
