Sun Bowl

  VS

Sun Bowl, 12/31: Washington State-Purdue

This should be a high scoring affair as the game consists of two teams with very offensive philosophies that love to throw the ball. Wazzu had a fine campaign but faltered at the end of the season while Purdue did well in the post-Brees era.

The match-up between the Cougars fine wide-outs and Purdue's defensive backs will be a good one. Nakoa McElrath had a breakout season and is a solid middle round choice if not earlier while Mike Busch is a huge targetAlso keep an eye on Marcus Trufant of Wazzu, one of the nations best kept secrets.  LaMont Thompson is moving up draft boards as he realizes his potential on the football field and melding his great athleticism into the safety position.  Running back David Minnich is having a terrific season and will get late round looks.

Purdue offers a solid, not spectacular corner in Ashante Woodyard and Stuart Schweigert, a safety constantly around the ball.  Tight end Tim Stratton will find his way into the later rounds.  Akin Ayodele will get looks late in the first day at outside linebacker.
