Scouting the New Orleans Bowl

It all starts tonight; three weeks of wall-to-wall bowl games. Throughout it all we'll have you covered, scouting each NFL-prospect from every team taking part in the post season. Today's single contest takes place in the Big Easy.

After a fast start Southern Miss lost four of its' final five games.  Still they have two highly rated NFL prospects.  Once again North Texas makes it to New Orleans for a bowl game...this time with no draft picks.

Southern Miss

Dustin Almond/QB/4Jr/9: Solid junior passer with an adequate arm and throwing accuracy.  Tough but lacks the top pocket stature.  UDFA

Jeremy Parquet/T/5Sr/77: Big, powerful blocker that dominates the opposition.  Athletic but needs to improve his blocking techniques.  Strong-side prospect at either guard or tackle.  Pre-draft workouts will determine if he's a first day selection. Late 3rd round

Michael Boley/OLB/5Sr/27: Excellent weak-side guard prospect that stands out in pass coverage while also displaying toughness against the run.  A good 40-time at the combine puts him into the first day. Early 3rd round

Marvin Young/WR/5Sr/88: Consistent wide out with good hands.  Fifth receiver at the next level who must impress returning punts.

North Texas

Adrian Awasom/DE/4Sr/85: Nice sized lineman with athletic ability.  Flashes skill yet does not make enough plays.  Some team will bring him into camp next summer.  UDFA

Markeith Knowlton/CB/4Sr/2: Good athlete whose college career has been hampered with injury.  UDFA
