Scouting Report: Antrel Rolle

As is the case almost every April, the Miami Hurricane football program places a prospect into the top ten of the NFL Draft. This year it comes in the version of cornerback Antrel Rolle.

Scouting Report: Antrel Rolle  School:  Miami-Fl

Ht:  6-0  Wt:  202  40:  4.48

The Good: Nice sized corner with top man-cover skills.  Heady ball player that does a solid job leading the secondary.  Jams opponents at the line of scrimmage slowing their release off the snap, physical in all aspects of the game and beats down opposing receivers.  Strong enough to get off blocks and support the run.  Keeps the action in front of him and quick arriving on the on the scene.  Solid footwork moving in reverse and possesses an excellent break on the ball as well as timing.  Immediately locates the pass in the air, displaying good timing and anticipation.

The Bad: Lacks the top plant then break on the throw, especially backed off the line of scrimmage.

The Skinny: An outstanding press-cover corner, Rolle offers a lot of upside for the next level and is a complete player.  Shutting down some of the nations better receivers during his college days, Rolle is also an outstanding special teams player.  Will be selected very early in the process next April and pre-draft workouts will dictate whether or not Rolle is chosen during the initial five selections.
