Thomas Davis did the expected and officially announced his entry into the NFL Draft. Now the TFY Draft Preview has learned that another pair of eligible underclassmen who are not household names are close to announcing their intentions to enter the ranks of the NFL.
Thomas Davis, the All-American free safety from Georgia, told his high school football coach earlier today of his intentions. One of the final factors in his decision was a knee injury Davis suffered against Florida in late October. Yet in the end the choice to enter the NFL Draft comes as no surprise to anyone. Back on October 12th we posted Davis was heavily leaning towards turning pro as he was watching his draft stock soar.
We have also learned that Oregon State redshirt sophomore Brandon Browner is close to signing with agent Leigh Steinberg and could announce his intention to enter the draft within days. A second team All Conference choice last year, Browner was voted Pac-10 Conference Freshman of the Year as a red-shirt freshman in 2003. A good sized corner with solid cover skills, he could break into the draft's first day.
12:20AM- We have just learned that Memphis running back Deangelo Williams has signed with agent Jimmy Sexton and will declare for the NFL Draft.
Update 1:30 PM: Florida sophomore linebacker Channing Crowder has reportedly informed Florida team officials of his intention to enter the NFL Draft and the school should have a press release rather soon.
