After stating several times that he would return to Minnesota for his senior season, running back Marion Barber III may be having a change of heart and has petitioned the NFL College Advisory Committee to project his draft position. In our estimation the big junior running back would be the first or second underclassmen selected, most likely in the late first to early second round, if he enters.
Ernest Shazor is still not committing to what most people thought was a forgone conclusion. When recently asked if he would return to Ann Arbor for his last season of college ball the big Michigan safety commented, "I'm not sure right now. I'm going to talk to Lloyd Carr and my parents."
Finally, LSU tackle Andrew Whitworth,
who has given every indication he will enter the draft, was mildly surprised
with the hiring of Les Miles as Tigers head coach which has given him some food
for thought on returning to Baton Rouge for his senior season.
