- The New England Patriots re-signed guard Steven Neal on Tuesday.

- Free agent wide receiver/punt-kick returner Tim Dwight (Chargers) visited the Patriots on Tuesday.

- The Minnesota Vikings had free agent tight end Freddie Jones (Cardinals) in for a visit on Tuesday.

- The Atlanta Falcons have signed free agent punter Toby Gowin (Jets), re-signed offensive lineman Steve Herndon. They also released punter Chris Mohr.

- The Washington Redskins re-signed reserve defensive tackle Cedric Killings on Tuesday.

- The Seattle Seahawks had cornerback Andre Dyson (Titans) in for a visit on Tuesday.

- The Minnesota Vikings have reached a multi-year contract agreement with free agent cornerback Fred Smoot (Redskins) on Wednesday.

With Smoot in the fold, cornerback Brian Williams will become the club's nickel back next season.

Smoot was scheduled to visit the Chiefs later this week had he not agreed to a deal with the Vikings.

- The Arizona Cardinals reached a two-year contract agreement with free agent safety Robert Griffith (Browns) on Monday. He'll likely take over the starting free safety job.

- The Chicago Bears re-signed reserve safety Bobby Gray.

- The Cleveland Browns re-signed reserve cornerback Lewis Sanders.

- The Miami Dolphins had free agent quarterback Gus Frerotte (Vikings), offensive tackle Stockar McDougle (Lions), and linebacker Donnie Spragan (Broncos) in for visits on Wednesday.

- The Chicago Bears had a visit from free agent quarterback Jay Fiedler (Dolphins) on Wednesday.

- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed veteran wide receiver Joey Galloway on Tuesday.

- The Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran free agent cornerback Terry Cousin (Giants) on Wednesday.

- The New Orleans Saints will have visits from free agent running back Antowain Smith (Titans) and tight end Shad Meier (Titans) on Wednesday.

- The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed reserve linebacker Marcus Wilkins on Wednesday.
